About Namara
Namara is intelligent water infrastructure for the home. A single device on your main water line does the work of seven products, delivering optimal pressure that cuts your water use and bills, and holding it there so pressure never reaches damaging levels. AI predicts and prevents water damage and frozen pipes before they happen. Unlike a traditional leak detector that waits for a problem and reacts, Namara removes the conditions that cause the damage in the first place.
Three things happen around the clock. Namara continuously measures the water pressure and flow coming in from the street and moving through your home. Drippy AI, our SMS text agent, compares what it sees against your home's normal patterns and known risk signals. And the patented variable-flow valve responds in real time, holding everything at optimal pressure minute to minute and shutting the water off within seconds when something is genuinely wrong. Sense, decide, act. That closed loop is what lets Namara stop problems instead of just reporting them.
Most "smart water" devices do one thing: they watch for a leak and shut the water off after it starts. Namara is different in three ways.
- It prevents instead of reacts.Holds your whole home at optimal pressure, removing the stress and surges that cause most leaks and plumbing failures. Predicts and prevents water damage and frozen pipes before they happen, not just detects them after. Actively protects, rather than passively monitoring.
- It replaces seven products, not just adds one more.Does the work of seven in a single device: pressure regulator, leak detector, water monitor, automatic shutoff, manual shutoff, expansion tank, and freeze protection. The only smart water device that actively regulates pressure, which is how it cuts your daily water use, not just the water lost to leaks. Built on a patented variable-flow valve with onboard AI (Drippy) that learns your home.
- It's built to last, and keeps working when it matters.Industrial-grade with a 10-year design life and a 5-year warranty, five times the typical one-year coverage. Backup battery keeps it protecting during a power outage. Engineered to avoid false alarms, so you only hear from it when it counts.
- Use up to 30% less water every day and lower utility bills (water, gas, electricity) through optimal pressure, not just from catching leaks.
- Optimal pressure 24/7 that protects your pipes, fixtures, and appliances
- Predicts and prevents leaks and water damage, not just detects them
- Freeze protection that helps prevent burst pipes, not just an alert after the fact
- Automatic shutoff that stops a serious leak in seconds, whether you're home or away
- One device that does the work of seven, professionally installed in about an hour
- Runs itself: no programming, no upkeep, a backup battery for power outages, and control from anywhere through Drippy
- Built to last: industrial-grade with a 10-year design life and a 5-year warranty
If you own a home, water is the risk you're least protected against. Water damage is one of the most common and most expensive homeowner insurance claims, and most of it comes from everyday causes: water pressure that's too high, a slow leak behind a wall, a burst pipe, or a freeze. Namara addresses all of them from a single device, holding your water at optimal pressure and catching problems before they become damage. If you've ever left home wondering whether you shut the water off, or paid for a leak you never saw coming, that's exactly what Namara is for.
Life with Namara
- Remote system control and monitoring
- Water usage insights and efficiency tracking
- Leak alerts and system status updates
- Custom settings for travel or maintenance
- Real-time pressure and flow monitoring
Unlike traditional systems that generate constant false alerts, Namara only notifies you when action is truly needed. The system provides:
- Early warning of potential issues before they become problems
- Immediate alerts for significant pressure changes
- Custom notifications for unusual water usage patterns
- System status updates and maintenance reminders
Namara maintains full system performance while optimizing your home's water health. Your showers, faucets, and appliances continue to operate exactly as expected with zero noticeable impact on daily usage. Instead of restricting flow, Namara dynamically regulates pressure to eliminate invisible spikes that cause premature wear on plumbing infrastructure, water heaters, and fixtures. By actively smoothing these pressure fluctuations, the system addresses the root causes of burst lines and leaks, providing consistent, comfortable pressure while extending the lifespan of your entire plumbing system.
Namara is designed for virtually maintenance-free operation. Built with industrial-grade engineering, the system operates autonomously without requiring routine manual upkeep. The only periodic requirement is a battery replacement every 2 to 5 years, to keep protection running during power interruptions. Every device includes a comprehensive 5-year warranty, significantly exceeding the standard 1-year industry baseline.
If the power goes out, Namara's valve holds its last position. Water keeps flowing if it was on, and stays shut if it was off. A backup battery keeps protection running, and when power is restored, the system automatically resumes normal operation.
If Namara shuts your water off, it's because it detected something serious, like a continuous flow that looks like a burst or a major leak. You'll get a message from Drippy explaining why. If everything's actually fine (say you were filling a pool or running a long irrigation cycle), you can turn the water back on in seconds through Drippy or with the manual control on the device. If you're not sure, leave it off and check for signs of a leak. That shutoff may have just saved you from a flood.
Namara tells you a leak is happening, how big it is in gallons per day, and when it started. Then Drippy helps you find it. When a leak is detected, Drippy walks you through finding the source by text, step by step. You'll narrow it down together: indoors or outdoors, then the usual suspects, a running toilet, an irrigation line, a dripping fixture, a water softener mid-cycle.
As you check and shut off each candidate, Namara watches the flow in real time and confirms the moment the leak stops, so you know you found it, not just silenced it. If the source turns out to be behind a wall or underground, Drippy can connect you with a certified plumber, and the flow data (size, timing, and pattern) gives your plumber a head start most service calls never get.
And if it's not a leak at all, say a pool filling or a long irrigation run, tell Drippy and it learns your home's routine, so real alerts stay rare and worth your attention.
Connectivity & Drippy AI
No. Namara is controlled entirely by text through Drippy AI, our SMS agent. Nothing to download, no account to log into, no dashboard to learn. If you can send a text, you can run your whole water system. Setup works the same way: the one-time WiFi connection happens through the valve's built-in setup page, walked through step by step by text. It works on any phone, iOS or Android.
Yes. Namara connects to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network, which mesh systems support. During setup, just make sure the device joins the 2.4 GHz band; most mesh systems handle this automatically.
Honestly, not much. Because we're watching for you. Namara keeps protecting your home whether it's online or not, and on the connection side we do the noticing so you don't have to.
If your WiFi completely disappears, we see it before you do. We'll text you right away and walk you through getting Namara back on your network, one simple step at a time.
If you already know your WiFi changed (a new router, or a new password) just text us and tell us. We'll guide you through reconnecting from your phone, and you're back up in about a minute.
Either way, you're never left guessing. We keep an eye on your device around the clock, we reach out the moment something needs attention, and we stay with you until it's fixed.
Yes. Everything Namara sends is encrypted in transit and runs on independently audited (SOC 2) infrastructure that's monitored around the clock. We don't sell or share your data with third parties. You control your settings, and you can ask us to export or delete your data at any time. In plain terms: Namara watches your water, not you.
The fastest way to reach us is through Drippy AI: just text your question and you'll get help. You can also reach our support team via our contact page.
Installation
Namara requires professional installation by a certified installer. The device can be installed indoors or outdoors and takes about an hour. It's installed on the main water line, where it can monitor and protect your entire home's water system.
Namara is installed by a Namara-certified installer. Certification keeps your warranty valid and makes sure the device is set up and calibrated correctly for your home. If you already have a plumber you trust, just let us know. In many cases they can become Namara-certified, or we'll connect you with a certified pro in your area.
Namara is compatible with all common residential plumbing materials, including copper, PEX, CPVC, and others. It's designed to work with standard residential water supply lines from 3/4" to 1.5" and connects via 1" NPT fittings. Your certified installer will verify your home's plumbing configuration during the pre-installation assessment.
Namara runs on standard 110V power and must be installed within reach of a power outlet.
Namara is compatible with virtually all common residential plumbing systems, and can be installed on homes with:
- Various pipe materials and sizes
- Water softeners and filtration systems (installed before these for whole-home protection)
- Irrigation systems (when connected downstream)
- Well water systems
- Standard municipal water supplies
- An existing PRV. Namara installs after it and takes over pressure control
- Standalone fire sprinkler systems that branch off before the Namara install point (for integrated systems, your installer will confirm the right configuration)
Namara installs on your main water line, indoors or outdoors, and your certified installer will position it correctly for your plumbing, including the right orientation for the power connection and controls. It needs about 8.5 inches of straight pipe at the install point.
Yes. Namara supports multiple devices under a single account, each monitored and controlled separately through Drippy AI. It's useful for property managers or anyone responsible for more than one home.
Insurance & Certifications
Often, yes, and they can be significant. Because Namara prevents the catastrophic water damage that drives expensive claims, carriers increasingly reward homes that install water protection like Namara. Depending on your carrier and location, benefits can include premium discounts, deductible credits or guarantees on water-related claims, waived water-damage restrictions or exclusions on your policy, and in some cases rebates on the device and installation. Some carriers now require an automatic shutoff device to write or renew coverage on higher-value homes, and Namara meets that requirement while doing far more than a shutoff. It's worth a quick call to your broker or carrier; five minutes often pays for a meaningful piece of the system.
Namara is engineered and built to meet the standards that matter for a device living on your home's main water line: drinking water safety, electrical safety, and water management performance.
- NSF/ANSI 61 and 372, for potable water safety
- UL 1951, for electrical safety
- FCC Part 15, for electronics
- ANSI/CAN/IAPMO Z1349, the standard for Devices for Detection, Monitoring or Control of Plumbing Systems, and the one insurers are moving toward.
Certifications are in progress and will be complete when Namara is at market. Your certified installer will confirm the requirements for your jurisdiction.
Namara is built on U.S. Patent 11,988,295 B1, issued May 2024.
Cost & Getting Started
Namara is sold and installed through a certified installer network of licensed plumbing professionals, so pricing is set by your installer and tailored to your home rather than a one-size-fits-all number. Your installer provides a single quote covering the device and professional installation. To get a quote or find a certified installer near you, contact us.
Start on the Get a Namara page and enter your ZIP code and we'll match you with a certified installer in your area.
From there, they'll confirm your home's plumbing is a fit, give you a quote, and schedule the install, which takes about an hour. Namara is sold and installed exclusively through certified installers, which is what keeps your warranty valid and the system dialed in for your specific home.
Every Namara includes a 5-year warranty, five times the typical one-year coverage, backed by industrial-grade construction and a 10-year design life.
